If you have little or no credit history, or a poor credit rating then you can use a new credit card to start to re-build your rating. You need however to find an issuer who will accept you. Once you get your credit card the thing to do is use it wisely only buying what you know you can afford to with it, and paying back more than the minimum payment each month, ideally clear the debt or as near to as possible. That way the charges will be negligible and within a short period your rating will start to rise. A credit card for people with little or no credit can therefore be a way of establishing your financial credibility and creating a pathway to larger lending in the future.
